Little League World Series canceled for first time in its 74-year history
Little League canceled its World Series and World Series qualifiers on Thursday. The coronavirus pandemic caused the first-ever cancellation in the 74-year history of the event. The LLWS began in 1947 and had been played every year since.  스포츠토토

But there remains hope that the 2020 Little League season can be played in some form or fashion as the coronavirus threat continues to throw curveballs at the nation’s largest youth baseball organization.

Steve Keener, president of Little League International, announced Thursday the cancellation of the famed Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The six other baseball and softball World Series sponsored by Little League and all of their regional qualifying tournaments are also canceled.

The youth baseball program, which has more than 2.5 million participants worldwide, had earlier put its qualifying events on hold, but made the cancellation official with Thursday's announcement.
